Overview
The Metropolitan Sewer District is seeking a skilled and motivated Computer System Analyst with expertise in Power BI and Project Management Information Systems (PMIS). This role focuses on data visualization and involves designing, developing, and publishing Power BI dashboards that translate PMIS data into actionable insights for project teams. The analyst will maximize PMIS capabilities by developing efficient workflows, automating processes, and ensuring seamless data integration, with comprehensive user training and documentation to improve project management efficiency.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and publish Power BI dashboards that translate PMIS data into actionable insights for project teams.
- Develop efficient workflows, automate processes, and ensure seamless data integration within PMIS.
- Provide comprehensive user training and documentation for PMIS-related tools and dashboards.
- Lead or contribute to projects requiring data visualization, analytics, and reporting across city, county, and criminal justice data processing needs.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware and software as needed; troubleshoot network and system issues; and support enterprise distributed client-server and desktop systems.
- Coordinate with technical teams to develop and maintain interfaces and interoperability between applications.
- Prepare clear and concise reports and technical documents; develop cost-effective improvements for technical systems.
- Experience in data processing applications, GIS, financial systems, human resources, court management, and other management information systems.
- Proficiency with standard programming languages; knowledge of operating systems and desktop software packages.
- Experience in database administration, data warehousing, and data security methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTML/JavaScript) and front-end design principles; familiarity with GIS tools and ESRI products is a plus.
- Ability to analyze requirements, design and implement systems based on specifications, and manage multiple databases and data archiving procedures.
- Strong communication skills for report writing and end-user training.

- A valid Driver's License may be required for some positions.
- Some positions may require a criminal background investigation and fingerprinting.
- May be required to work irregular hours and be on-call.
- Military education and experience may be substituted for college coursework based on ACE guidelines as applicable.
- Perform essential functions of Computer Programmer Analyst roles.
- Establish connectivity between systems across the network; address connectivity problems and monitor server activity.
- Install and configure major applications and coordinate hardware/software upgrades.
- Design and develop software to facilitate inter-operability of applications and data sharing; develop interface specifications and backup/disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop client workflows that accomplish grouped tasks; consolidate and integrate workflows across major applications such as ERP and GIS systems.
- Provide training, mentorship, and end-user training materials; ensure IT security compliance.
