Our client is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead and drive all environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance, building a strong safety culture, and implementing programs that reduce risk, improve employee well-being, and support operational excellence.

This is a high-impact leadership position for someone who thrives in a hands‑on manufacturing environment and knows how to influence both the floor and the leadership team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives across the facility
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Drive a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; implement corrective actions
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and leadership teams
  • Oversee workers’ compensation, injury management, and return‑to‑work programs
  • Maintain and improve environmental compliance programs, including waste management and reporting
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to ensure safe processes, equipment, and facility changes
  • Track, analyze, and report key EHS metrics and KPIs to leadership
  • Lead and mentor EHS team members and safety committees
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, with Tier 1 automotive experience required (non‑negotiable)
  • Proven experience supporting high‑volume, fast‑paced production environments
  • Strong expertise in OSHA compliance, audits, and regulatory reporting
  • Hands‑on experience with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Demonstrated success in reducing safety incidents and driving a strong safety culture
  • Experience working closely with plant leadership and production teams to influence and implement safety initiatives
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance and safety management systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization
  • Experience in unionized environments is a strong plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
