Assembly Operator II is an experienced role within Operations that requires proficiency across multiple lines or areas. These operators bring several years of expertise and the flexibility to move between work locations as business needs change. In this position, you may perform more complex or specialized production tasks, operate advanced equipment, and use computers or software applications. Additionally, you may be responsible for maintaining required licenses and training to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
This role is ideal for individuals who can adapt quickly, handle diverse responsibilities, and support productivity across different areas.
- Assembly of component parts with use of assembly prints and Bill of Materials.
- Based on work cell may be required to utilize computer, software, forklift, or other specialized tools or equipment.
- Wire crimping, crimping, stripping, soldering.
- Maintain equipment in proper working order, maintain and improve work area order and cleanliness.
- Perform required function using the standard work instructions provided.
- Perform work in a safe and healthy manner; ensuring deviations to standard work instructions that will lead to quality, productivity, or safety problems are immediately identified.
- Actively participate in cell meetings in order to understand customer & production needs, quality challenges as well as other key issues.
- Packaging and shipping of products.
- Verify product assembly through use of ‘Go/No Go’ fixtures.
- Identify and communicate ideas to cell leaders that support improving the cell's performance & the elimination of waste.
- Use the cell's visual boards as a means for communicating challenges to your cell as well as a vehicle for receiving information on KPI for our cell.
- Participate in kaizen and other cell improvement teams.
- Use kanban methodology, stocking material.
- Attend company meetings as required.
- Reading tags and operation of tag machine.
- High school diploma.
- Must be able to read work instructions, schematics, assembly drawings, and prints.
- Must be able to understand the English language in order to understand verbal instructions.
- Previous experience in Mechanical Assembly.
- Previous soldering skills may be required (training and test will be provided).
- Previous electronic experience in PCB assembly and/or cable assembly may be required.
- Siemens experience.
- Ability to utilize power tools, hand tools, machinery, and equipment required to perform job.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry minimal weights from 2 to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally climb heights of 5–15 feet on a ladder.
- Ability to occasionally twist.
- This position requires working in the internal environment.
- This position requires working in an environment with reasonable minimum factory exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, and fumes and with exposure to equipment or devices that could harm self or others.
