Machine Operator, Manufacturing Production
The Machine Operator Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
- Operate various types of machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements, may include basic program adjustments to meet quality and schedule requirements
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Can simultaneously operate two or more machines when practical and necessary.
- Performs basic daily maintenance or checks for machines.
- SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing principals and basic shop math.
- Knowledge of hand tools and general inspection tools.
- Ability to read and follow work order, set up, tool, and measurement instructions.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Experience in production and quality control methods (ISO
9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred. - Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems helpful.
- Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
