What you will do in this role
- Operate batch mixers, continuous compounding units, packaging lines, and powered industrial trucks.
- Assist or fully operate pail/drum filling operations.
- Follow procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Perform adjustments and minor repairs to equipment.
- Assist mechanics, electricians, and other building personnel with troubleshooting and repair.
- Participate in and write Safe Work Permits.
- Follow Lock Out/Tag Out and Return to Operation (RTO) procedures.
- Operate and interface with computer‑controlled equipment and processes.
- Communicate effectively across a diverse work group and across shifts via email and computer‑based applications.
- Execute hose changes, static mixer changes, flushing procedures, bulk changes, and all associated SAP transactions necessary to complete an order and move to the next.
- Fill out run sheets and other required documents completely and accurately per ISO standards.
- Ensure that color and quality of material in the package meet or exceed the customer's expectations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and perform general housekeeping duties.
- Create new procedures as needed.
- Maintain regular attendance and work various shifts and overtime as required.
- Perform basic troubleshooting tasks for process upsets.
- Perceive, identify, and respond to alarms.
- Use hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
- May work outdoors and in inclement weather.
The Elizabethtown facility is a 24×7 operation. Shift availability depends on the area of hire and business needs. Operators may be assigned to rotating shifts, first, second or third shifts, and may be required to work 7‑day or 5‑day schedules. Shift of preference cannot be guaranteed. Candidates must be available to work any and all shifts, including rotating and third shift, and must be willing to work overtime as required.
Qualifications- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in Operations, Maintenance, Site Logistics, Quality, or Security roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Four or more years of Military experience.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- No visa sponsorship or support available for this position.
- Previous experience working in a Chemical Manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as a Production Operator.
- Previous experience in a Maintenance role.
- Forklift experience.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing technical equipment.
- Ability to communicate with the team via e‑mail and face‑to‑face settings.
- Data entry skills (basic computer skills).
- Proficient computer skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications and SAP.
- High regard for personal safety and the safety of others, with a proven history of addressing safety concerns and issues.
- Equipment Operation & Troubleshooting: operation of batch mixers, compounding units, packaging lines, and powered industrial trucks; perform minor repairs.
- Safety & Compliance Awareness: strong understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out, Safe Work Permits, PPE usage, and hazardous environment work.
- Mechanical Aptitude: comfortable using hand, power, and pneumatic tools; assist with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Process & Quality Control: ensure product quality through color and material checks, complete ISO‑standard documentation, and follow flushing and changeover procedures.
- Computer & Data Entry
Skills:
proficiency in SAP, Microsoft applications, and computer‑controlled equipment for operations and communication. - Communication & Team
