Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM 2:30 PM, Monday Friday)
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Job Summary

The PS Slitter Operator is responsible for safely operating PS slitters while maintaining efficient production and high-quality standards. Duties include loading master rolls, performing film and width changeovers, interacting with PLC systems, monitoring run conditions, packaging finished goods, and entering production data throughout the shift. This position primarily involves running materials with adhesive backing, such as tapes, protective films, and self-adhesive labels.

Success in this role requires precise tension management to prevent materials from sticking together, telescoping, or experiencing adhesive bleed during the rewind process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and warehouse.
  • Follow all company safety policies and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents.
  • Maintain company quality standards throughout production.
  • Start, operate, and monitor slitting machines during production runs.
  • Run the number of sets specified on the Slitting Ticket.
  • Verify machine setup by comparing it to the web diagram.
  • Accurately label all finished rolls.
  • Enter production data into the production reporting system.
  • Make machine adjustments during production runs to correct quality issues.
  • Review packing specifications to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Inspect film for defects, including star patterns, core alignment issues, edge weave, width variations, and debris contamination.
  • Transport materials and finished goods when a material handler is unavailable.
  • Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting; report larger issues to the supervisor.
  • Set and adjust blades to ensure smooth, clean cuts.
  • Update inventory records and maintain job history in the logbook for effective shift-to-shift communication.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times during an 8-hour shift.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail for recordkeeping and quality control.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
