Licensed Practical Nurse, Primary Care Clinic

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a person licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

• Location: Perryville, MO
• Mercy Primary Care Clinic
• Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week
• Shift: Days, Monday - Friday

• Provide patient care using the nursing process under appropriate supervision.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality of information.

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Lifestyle/ Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration will be given to comparable education/experience and successful licensure. Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the hiring state and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Physical Requirements: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds.
• Experience: New or experienced LPN.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion within 30 days of hire; LPN-IV Certification either already completed or completed within 3 months of hire (range from hire to within 1 year).
