Overview
This position is a leader in patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The role involves effective delegation, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes, and supporting the company's philosophy of nursing.
Education- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- None.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred:
Certification in clinical specialty area.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
- Good time‑management skills, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and self‑direction.
- Good interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills; ability to demonstrate good judgment and supervise or manage others.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family, and other groups or disciplines.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and improvement in the profession of nursing.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, introduction to the patient, and adapting explanations of services or procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Exerting 50–100 pounds of force occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, and 10–20 pounds constantly to move objects. Requires walking, standing, or pushing/pulling materials at a production‑rate pace and handling of blood, body fluids, tissues, or communicable diseases. There is occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or waste.
