Description:

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) provides comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, to patients. The APRN is a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare and behavioral health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered mental health services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows the terms of the agreed upon Standard Care Arrangement and maintains appropriate licensure and continuing education requirements for role as APN - State of Ohio.
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including patient interviews, history taking, and mental status examinations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments, utilizing evidence-based practices and patient goals.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications, ensuring efficacy and managing side effects.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, mental health technicians, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and integrated care.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and promoting recovery.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education activities to stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.
• Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
• Follows all relevant Zepf policies and procedures and maintains client confidentiality as required by law.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted state license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Must have prescriptive authority with a valid DEA Registration
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferred.
• Must be able to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Must be proficient and accurate in computer use and able to handle a high usage of the computer.

Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier. Those who drive personal vehicles in the course of business must be able to provide proof of insurance.
