Overview

Our client in the industrial products space is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow distributor accounts across OH, IN, PA, and WV. This role focuses on selling mounted bearings, power transmission components, chain, sprockets, gears, and stainless-steel solutions for heavy‑duty applications. The position includes a mix of warm leads and targeted cold outreach, regular customer meetings, and independently planned travel.

The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, highly organized, and customer‑focused, with strong follow‑through and account management skills. This position offers a territory with significant untapped potential and growth opportunities within a company known for its strong culture and long‑tenured team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow distributor relationships across a multi‑state territory
  • Drive new business via warm leads (40%) and disciplined cold calling (60%)
  • Schedule and conduct 2–3 customer meetings per week within the assigned territory
  • Independently plan weekly travel and customer visit schedules
  • Manage and grow existing accounts while expanding market penetration
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets and growth goals
  • Maintain accurate account records, activity tracking, and pipeline data within CRM
  • Collaborate with internal sales and business development teams as needed
  • Monitor competitors and share market and customer feedback
  • Represent the company professionally with distributors and end customers
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of outside & inside sales experience in any industry is required
  • Strong relationship‑building and customer service skills are required
  • Tech‑savvy with the ability to learn new software and tools is required
  • Ability to travel 50% within the territory + an annual visit to the Portland office is required
