Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Lead Field Service Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands‑on support for the installation, startup, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical power systems. This role supports commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, and mission‑critical facilities while ensuring the reliable operation of UPS systems, switch gear, automatic transfer switches (ATS), standby generators, battery systems, and associated power distribution equipment.
The ideal candidate is an experienced field service professional with strong electrical troubleshooting skills, a customer‑first mindset, and the ability to lead projects while mentoring junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Lead field service activities involving the installation, startup, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of critical power systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair UPS systems, battery backup systems, switch gear, ATS equipment, standby generators, and power distribution equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, operational testing, and emergency service calls.
- Conduct equipment startups, functional testing, system commissioning, and operational verification.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues using electrical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
- Coordinate planned outages, equipment replacements, and system upgrades with customers and project teams.
- Perform battery inspections, testing, and replacement recommendations.
- Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance documentation, commissioning reports, and customer recommendations.
- Ensure all work is completed safely while following OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and company safety procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior field technicians.
- Build strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional technical support and responsive service.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or electrical/electronics training preferred.
- 5+ years of field service experience with critical power equipment.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting UPS systems and battery backup systems.
- Working knowledge of switch gear, automatic transfer switches (ATS), standby generators, and power distribution equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one‑line drawings.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer locations.
- Ability to pass background screening, drug testing, and driving record requirements.
