Job Description

The Commercial Exhaust Hood Technician is essential for maintaining kitchen ventilation systems to ensure safety and compliance with NFPA code 96. Primarily working overnight in a two-person crew, this role involves detailed cleaning, preventive maintenance, and adherence to strict safety protocols. Frequent travel is required, and the technician must be reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented to support quality assurance and code compliance in demanding environments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform equipment maintenance and preventive upkeep
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA code 96 and other relevant codes
  • Conduct pressure washing and detailed cleaning for code compliance
  • Maintain safety standards and follow safety protocols
  • Complete accurate and timely reporting of work performed
  • Work effectively within a 2-person crew during overnight shifts
  • Comply with company policies, including punctuality and preparedness
  • Travel frequently to various job sites as required
Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work overnight hours, typically 8-10pm to 5-8am
  • Detail-oriented approach to cleaning and code compliance tasks
  • Capable of working a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule with 10-12 hour shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with pressure washers, commercial kitchen hoods, or mechanics
  • Knowledge of NFPA 96 compliance standards
  • Skills in preventive maintenance and mechanical repair
  • Strong safety compliance and tool handling abilities
  • Effective problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
