Southern Indiana Tire Inc is seeking an OTR Technician to service off-the-road and commercial tires for fleet, industrial, and retail customers. In this hands-on role, you'll mount, dismount, repair, and rotate large tires in shop and field settings, using proper tools, safety procedures, and documentation. You'll diagnose tire and basic wheel issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support roadside or on-site service calls.

Working in a team-focused, customer-first environment, you'll communicate clearly with dispatch and customers, uphold company safety standards, and grow your technical skills for long-term career advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Mount, dismount, repair, and rotate OTR and commercial tires in shop and field settings
  • Perform tire inspections, pressure checks, and basic wheel and rim diagnostics
  • Respond to roadside or on-site service calls safely and efficiently
  • Operate tire service tools, equipment, and vehicles according to safety procedures
  • Document work performed, materials used, and service details accurately
  • Communicate with dispatch, service writers, and customers on job status and needs
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines, including lifting and PPE standards
  • Assist with inventory, shop organization, and equipment maintenance
  • Support customer-first service by addressing issues promptly and professionally
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and skills development

Required Skills

  • OTR and commercial tire mounting and dismounting
  • Tire repair (plug, patch, section repair)
  • Use of tire changers, balancers, and related tools
  • Safe operation of service trucks and lifting equipment
  • Tire inspection and diagnosis of wear patterns
  • Basic wheel, rim, and hub component knowledge
