About the Division of Driver Licensing

The client is a public‑facing organization that directly impacts citizens and travelers every day through driver licensing and credentialing services. Operations span statewide service locations and support functions related to driver licensing, record maintenance, and highway safety. The organization works closely with officials at multiple levels to deliver high‑quality services to citizens, businesses, and government partners, with a continuous focus on improvement.

The client is responsible for issuing driver's licenses, maintaining driver records, and managing driver safety programs. The division works collaboratively with other state agencies, partner states, and federal agencies. In response to federally mandated REAL  enacted by the Department of Homeland Security, the organization has implemented new rules for credential issuance and record keeping.

To meet increased demand, the client has an immediate need for a group of exceptional individuals to join the organization as Driver License Credentialing Specialists. The rollout of a new digitized driver license system statewide will require limited travel to issuance locations across the state.

In this position, there may be opportunities for advancement within the Division of Driver Licensing. Credentialing Specialists may be assigned to a mobile unit and required to travel to various locations statewide to issue licenses. These locations may include manufacturing centers, libraries, correctional facilities, and other local sites in need of driver license services. Overnight stays may be required based on operational needs.

Candidates will not be expected to use their personal vehicle. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Position Overview

The focus of this role is to learn and apply digitized driver license issuance requirements in accordance with state and federal rules, including REAL , Commercial Driver License (CDL), and National Driver Register standards.

Successful candidates will review and analyze secure documents submitted by driver license applicants and handle sensitive personal information.

Candidates must be able to pass a federal fingerprint‑based background check and conduct themselves professionally when interacting with both employees and the public. Disciplinary action may be taken for any infractions. Each applicant must maintain an active driving record with no current or pending issues. Driving records will be screened periodically (approximately twice per year) for compliance.
