Route Driver​/Event Driver​/Passenger Driver

Job Description

We are looking for drivers to join our team! In this role, you will safely operate a company transportation vehicle along prescribed routes and schedules, providing door-to-door transportation for students. This position also transports students, teachers, and coaches for field trips and athletic events while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

• Drive a company transportation vehicle along prescribed route(s) in accordance with established time schedules.
• Pick up and discharge students door-to-door.
• Transport students and teachers on field trips to various locations, planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed.
• Transport students and coaches to out-of-town field trips and athletic tournaments, planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed.
• Maintain order and proper discipline of student passengers in accordance with district policy.

• Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Report any mechanical repairs needed to ensure safe operation.
• Service vehicles with gas and oil, and check and fill tires and batteries as necessary.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle to ensure a safe operating condition.

• Attend required safety meetings, first aid training, and ongoing training updates.
• Participate in driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of the Ohio Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as they apply to the transportation of school children.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Applicants will be asked to provide a driver's abstract
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Specific certifications may be required depending on the position.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical examination.
• Ability to successfully complete BCI and FBI background checks
