Bi-Vocational Pastor

First Baptist Church of Elk Grove Village is a small, close-knit congregation with a heart for both God’s people and his word. We are a multigenerational church family seeking to grow in faith, love, and service to our community. Our members range from long-time faithful seniors to young families and children, and we are excited to welcome a pastor who can connect with all ages.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, Spirit-led bi-vocational pastor who is passionate about preaching the Word of God, building relationships, and shepherding a diverse congregation. The ideal candidate will be relatable to both older and younger members
, bringing energy, compassion, and biblical wisdom to our church family.

• Preach and teach biblically sound sermons on Sundays
• Provide pastoral care, including visitation, counseling, and prayer
• Lead or support Bible studies and discipleship opportunities
• Collaborate with church leadership to guide the vision, mission and purpose of the church
• Engage with the local community and encourage outreach efforts
• Officiate weddings, funerals, and other church ceremonies as needed

• A clear calling to pastoral ministry
• Ability to relate to and communicate with all age groups
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message of 2000, adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention
• Seminary education or theological training preferred but not required
• Must be able to maintain a second source of income (bi-vocational)
