Position
IT Systems Engineer
IT Systems Engineer will serve as a key technical resource supporting IT infrastructure, systems, and applications across the Thunderbird environment. This role provides hands‑on system administration, troubleshooting, implementation, and user support. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated problem solver who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, learns new systems quickly, and works collaboratively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain servers, networks, and applications to ensure availability, performance, and security.
- Manage and prioritize IT service tickets, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with end users.
- Coordinate and track progress on IT projects, including system upgrades, rollouts, and integrations.
- Maintain detailed documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Perform system monitoring, patching, updates, and preventive maintenance.
- Assist with deployment and configuration of new hardware, software, and systems.
- Manage Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and ensuring compliance with security and ITAR requirements.
- Deploy new hardware, software, and systems following established change management and testing processes.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues independently.
- Provide technical guidance and support to end users.
- Assist in implementing system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and technology deployments.
- Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to optimize reliability, security, and efficiency.
- Assist with backups, disaster recovery testing, and data integrity verification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
- 1–5 years of relevant IT work experience.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) a plus.
- Eager to learn, dependable, and a collaborative team player.
- Strong interest in computer hardware, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
