This position will be based in our Elk Grove, Illinois Central Distribution Center

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Use wire cutting machines to cut, strip, and terminate wire cuts. Performs task in the areas of machine set up, machine operation, and machine general maintenance. May also use manual tools to cut and/or strip wire and cable. Works under direct supervision of warehouse supervisors.

Essential Functions:

• Identify proper specifications from customer orders in Eclipse.
• Print Cutting Labels for Accuracy and customer satisfaction
• Manually and digitally set up wire cutting machines to order specifications.
• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of wire cutting machines for proper set up and operation.
• Inspect products to ensure wire is NOT damaged before and during cutting process.
• Minimize scrap through proper operation and bin location maintenance for remnants.
• Communicate any problems with machine or product issues to supervisors.
• Maintain daily Cycle counts for the wire center.
• Maintain a Safe and Clean work environment.

Requirements:
Education, Knowledge, Training, Experience, Licenses, Certification

• Fluent English – verbal and written
• Mechanical skills/knowledge and machine operation experience desirable
• Knowledge of wire cutting/terminating machine operation desirable.
• Sit Down and Stand Up Forklift Certified
• Mathematical Skills

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions of this Position:

• Bending and twisting motions required.
• Pushing and pulling fully loaded manual pallet jacks, and carts.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to see and differentiate colors. Corrected vision that allows
• Ability to read small alphanumeric letters at a distance of 12-18 inches.
• Ability to lift boxes and spools of wire up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to work while standing, many tasks require standing all day.
• Ability to maintain a brisk pace and meet generally accepted production rates.
