CMM Programmer Qualifications
  • Understands and can interpret customer drawings, parts lists, ECOs, including GD&T.
  • Two years experience operating, programming and maintaining a CMM. Hexagon, PCDMIS preferred.
  • Three years experience using, calibrating and setting of manual inspection devices such as bore gages, micrometers, dial indicators, height gages, thread and pin gages, microscopes for visual inspection, profilometers, optical comparators and Rockwell testers.
  • Operate CMM equipment safely, analyzing product and meeting production expectations set forth by immediate supervisor.
  • Measure and inspect parts with best and most practical methods whether using a CMM, Manual inspection tools, visual inspections or any method that will produce accurate results and best efficiencies.
  • Program the CMM for new and existing parts to ensure process improvement and quality product during setup, in-process and final inspections.
  • Cross train fellow employees on how to program and operate the CMM.
  • Save CMM programs in designated location and follow change management procedure.
  • Support needs of production personnel.
  • Work to train programmers, set up and operators when applicable with inspection methodology.
  • Be team leader and work as a team member to ensure quality product and efficiencies.
  • Report any maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Look to continuous improvement of processes and job performance and understand the contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Work with programmers and set up personnel for any technical issues or trouble shooting when needed.
  • Document work in ERP system, work order, CMM programs, and/or measuring software as applicable, to maintain traceability and quality records.
  • Keep clean and organized work area and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Communicate any concerns or issues related to production of parts, safety and quality to immediate supervisor for particular machine or project.
  • Only use calibrated measuring equipment whether personal or company supplied. When found not in proper calibration have corrected immediately.
  • Handle inspection equipment, machines and parts in a manner that will not cause damage or deterioration.
  • Aware of quality policies, procedures, objectives, contribution to conformance of product, safety and ethics.
