Position OverviewWe are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Protein Innovation Center Specialist to join our team. You will act as a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise to enhance operations and support our customers. Your contributions will help keep our facility at the forefront of food processing technology.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and electronically.
- Maintain the facility in a showcase-ready state, including washing and sanitizing all surfaces after events.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes.
- Implement food safety protocols in line with Codex Alimentarius (GFSI) guidelines.
- Develop strategies for addressing unexpected business situations.
- Provide expertise in protein marination and product curing processes.
- Oversee basic test kitchen supplies and tabletop appliances/equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to identify variables and deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate records of scheduling, protein inventory, and supplies.
- Develop and organize standard training programs for the Protein Innovation Center.
- Source suppliers for protein and dry ingredients as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field
- Food Processing experience with ingredients, meat science, sanitation, and processing preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience with high-speed food manufacturing equipment, especially in meat processing
- Strong knowledge of beef and pork primal cuts, processed meats, and food product development
- Basic understanding of meat and poultry laboratory science and ingredient functionality
- Familiarity with USDA/FDA food safety directives and HACCP certification
- Global Food Safety Initiative background is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for supplies and ingredients
