Job DescriptionRRD is looking for an energetic, and highly motivated team member to join our team of Press Operators at our Elk Grove Village facility.
Job Title:
Press Operator 3
- Operate web printing press to print quality production, maintain quality of product, lead and direct press crew, maintain press, and work on other operation duties as directed by attachments
- Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain Litho Press, In‑line double web press, Harris M10, mini web 6‑color web printing pressor, бутлуурын multicolor offset press to print single‑color, two‑color, or multi‑color work which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical.
- Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run (sheet wise or work and turn).
- Perform all make‑ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
- Make necessary color corrections or press adjustments prior tossel run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the workRaz
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
- Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
- Act as a leader in providing and promoting a safe and injury‑free work environment.
- Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the press and press crew.
- Responsible for overall quality of the printed product including color reproduction, product specifications, imaging quality, and postal specifications.
- Determine when product is suitable for saving.
- Ensure production of a sample‑quality product.
- Monitor other crew members’ progress while performing their responsibilities.
- Provide accurate documentation of time, materials, impressions, waste, and run speeds.
- Communicate information effectively with other crews and departments, scheduling, prepress, maintenance.
- Coordinate make‑ready process by reviewing job information, establishing a make‑ready plan, and assigning responsibilities to crew members.
- Maintain a preventive maintenance program for the press and use the “Request For Action” system to notify the maintenance department of equipment issues.
- Share expertise and help train other employees as assigned.
- Other responsibilities as required.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $30.90 to $44.60 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and stand‑by pay.
