Field Technician – Northwest Mosquito Abatement District

Help us keep the public safe from mosquito‑borne diseases! The Northwest Mosquito Abatement District is seeking responsible, reliable, and driven college students who enjoy being outside for seasonal employment at our Elk Grove Village location.

Starting pay for new seasonal employees is $16.00 an hour. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday during the summer months: between May 1st and September 30th. Applicants must be able to work at least 7 consecutive weeks. There is an opportunity for overtime and three possibilities for end‑of‑season bonuses for seasonal employees.

• Perform active surveillance for mosquito larvae within the District.
• Treat water sites and storm drains as required.
• Read maps and drive throughout the District in company vehicles.
• Complete on‑the‑job training.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Have good communication skills.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Pass a Department of Agriculture exam pertaining to pesticides – study materials provided.
• Be able to lift, bend, twist, and carry weight exceeding 50 lbs.
• Be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain for periods exceeding two hours.
