FSQA Technician - Team Lead

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Team Lead for our Elk Grove Village, IL facility. The Team Lead will oversee and support food safety & quality systems in the USDA–FDA dual jurisdiction processing plant, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal standards, and customer expectations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and food safety.

• Train production and QA staff on food safety, quality procedures, and regulatory updates.
• Direct QA technicians, schedule shifts, and collaborate with the QA manager for performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with USDA, FSIS and FDA regulations, including HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, and HARPC.
• Lead daily QA activities including pre‑operational inspections, in‑process checks, and finished product evaluations.
• Maintain accurate and timely QA documentation, including batch records, deviation logs, and verification records.
• Participate in internal audits and support third‑party audits (SQF, customer audits).

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of QA experience in USDA‑regulated meat processing; FDA experience a strong plus.
• HACCP certification required; PCQI certification preferred.
• Experience with document control systems and audit readiness.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
