Food Service Worker​/Cashier; Part Time

Job Summary

Part‑time Food Service Worker/Cashier at Ascension Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Perform cashiering duties and general food service work while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

800 Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007

Part‑time. Rotating weekend and holiday days. Closing shifts until 7:30 pm.

$16.00–$17.00 per hour.

Uniform top provided; $50 shoe stipend.

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
• Relate relevant information to supervisor.
• Perform sales transactions.
• Enter sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
• Make change, accept declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment.
• Issue receipts to customers.
• Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
