Position Summary
The Territory Sales Representative (Chemicals) is responsible for driving chemical sales within a defined territory, focusing on solutions for automotive repair shops and service providers. This individual will work closely with the Chemicals Sales Manager to achieve sales goals, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships. The role requires deep product knowledge of automotive chemicals, consultative selling skills, and the ability to identify customer needs to provide tailored solutions.
Travel within the territory is required for customer visits, training, and trade show participation. Overnight travel is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow chemical sales within the assigned territory by developing new accounts and expanding existing customer relationships.
Establish and monitor sales targets focused on revenue growth, margin improvement, and customer retention.
Provide consultative sales support by recommending chemical products (e.g., cleaners, lubricants, fluids, and shop-use products) that meet customer operational needs.
Partner with vendors and internal teams to deliver effective chemical product demonstrations, training, and technical updates.
Analyze sales trends, customer data, and territory performance using tools such as Map My Customers and Phocas.
Participate in ride-alongs and joint sales calls to drive adoption of best practices and strengthen customer engagement.
Collaborate with Inside Sales, Marketing, and other departments to ensure consistent execution of sales strategies.
Resolve customer issues by coordinating with Pricing, Operations, and Product Support teams.
Represent Driven Distribution Group at trade shows, industry events, and customer training sessions.
Prepare reports and deliver presentations summarizing territory performance, opportunities, and competitive insights.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
3–5+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably in the automotive aftermarket or chemical products industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated success in prospecting, lead generation, and pipeline management.
Ability to analyze market trends, sales data, and customer needs to drive strategy.
Willingness to travel within the assigned territory, including overnight stays and attendance at trade shows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automotive chemical sales or related product categories.
Familiarity with shop operations and common chemical product applications.
Experience with sales enablement platforms such as Map My Customers and Phocas.
Background in conducting product demonstrations and training sessions.
