Logistics Dispatch Manager; Domestic Transporation

Role & Responsibilities

• Ensure all Key Account Customer appointments are made at uplift, and deliveries are on time with a 98% or above KPI for adjusted On Time delivery.
• Ensure all PODs are received in timely manner and transit milestones are updated within required timeframe.
• Direct contact with Key Customers.
• Monitor appointment stability metrics for receivers and elevate any receiver issues to Key Account Management.
• Manage a team of dispatchers and ensure adherence to SOPs and meeting of KPI metrics.
• Ensure timely and accurate cost accrual, invoice processing and billing to customer.
• Report and monitor shipments irregularities in SEMS (Shipment Exemption Management System).
• Drive cost reductions by improving truck utilization and route optimization (consolidation).
• Point of contact for all escalation delivery problems for truckers and finding resolutions.
• Work closely with Domestic Transportation Director on trucking service procurement, carrier Q  and domestic trucking RFQs and ad hoc pricing request.
• Form strong partnerships with carriers, monitor and record carrier performance (Scorecard) and adherence to MEC pick up, in-transit and delivery procedures.
• Work closely with security on enhancing load security.
• Coordinate escorts for high value shipments.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in domestic transportation and/or domestic supply chain, management.

· Experience with high value, Hot Shot Delivery Trucks.

· Knowledge and proven experience with planning and optimization.

· Previous experience successfully managing a team of five or more people.

· Proven experience with coordinating escorts for high value shipments.

· Experience handling high volume cross dock shipments coming through the warehouse.

· Must have experience and knowledge of international transport (air import).

· Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while exercising sound judgement.

· Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems.

· Must be a confident self-starter who can develop effective business relationships, both internally and externally.

· Candidates must be self-motivated, customer service oriented, and eager to ensure the success of the team.

· Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision, and thrive within a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.

· Excellent computer knowledge, advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
