Base pay range

$24.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Obtain documentation from carrier operators, match with pre-advice, and open a file in the PROLINK system.
  • Issue delivery orders to carriers and arrange timely delivery.
  • Complete all inbound moves, including ITs and permits to transfer.
  • Trace lost freight and shortages; follow up with airlines/shipping lines and inform all stations/agents involved.
  • File preliminary notices of claim.
  • Notify all parties when payable and receivable documents are completed accurately and forwarded in a timely manner.
  • Maintain logs, PROLINK entries, and import traffic.
  • Distribute copies of documents according to the consignees' and/or country-of-origin requirements.
  • Report pertinent information to the Department Manager regarding customer/vendor problems or unusual situations that may impact services.
  • Track cargo arrival prior to arrival and update FMS milestones as per company guidelines.
  • Receive, review, and process high-volume and/or complex import transactions for clients, including booking, billing, classifications, processing data through Morrison Express systems, and obtaining consular and other government agency releases as appropriate.
  • Check shipments in the warehouse to ensure shipping documents correspond to actual shipments.
  • Work closely with sales, account managers, or the sales office to respond expeditiously to customers' needs.
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, and other offices/agents in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Notify customers/brokers of product arrival and charges, and assist with the invoicing process.
  • Generate freight transfer documentation and support it with appropriate documentation.
  • Process bills of lading and provide clear instructions to the team for handling each shipment.
  • Ensure shipments of hazardous materials are checked and processed in accordance with applicable regulations under IATA and CFR.
  • Communicate timely with clients to set up and complete delivery of shipments.
  • Obtain all necessary documents and charges prior to releasing freight; ensure documentation supports carrier invoices before payment approval.
  • Maintain orderly files with complete, correct documentation and notify parties when payable/receivable documents are completed and forwarded.
  • Complete all tracking and billing milestones as set forth by company guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Business, Management, Engineering, Transportation, or related field), or 8-10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in freight forwarding and logistics (domestic or international).
  • Ability to independently design, implement, and operate an operations plan and supply chain solutions.
  • Occasional travel may be required (< 25%).
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to present information to top management and/or boards of directors and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and follow through on requests.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks based on department objectives, knowing when to escalate.
