Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Responsibilities

• Coordinates day to day activities in purchasing including record keeping, filing, and all clerical functions incidental to purchasing activities.
• Place orders to vendors.
• Reviews and verifies orders submitted by requisitioning departments.
• Follows up on orders to ensure materials are shipped and delivered on dates promised.
• Conducts research related to item availability, payment issues and options.
• Maintains records and files related to purchasing activities.
• Uses computer terminal to input and retrieve data (SAP B1).
• Must be a good communicator and negotiator.
• Responsible for buying inventory and BOM purchases.
• Purchases office supplies, tools & supplies, and coordinates outside processes.
• Responsible for the accuracy of the Open Purchase Order Report.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production Planning, and Manufacturing to ensure material availability for production schedules and engineering changes.

• Understanding of basic purchasing components.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (word processing and spreadsheet programs).
• MRP System experience (SAP B1 preferred).
• Interpret engineering drawings and bill of materials.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
