Position OverviewThe Project Superintendent is the lead onsite authority responsible for executing Red Mountain Communications Tower projects in full compliance with contract documents, state regulations, and public agency requirements. This role oversees all day‑to‑day field operations while ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and audit‑ready documentation. This position is ideal for a Superintendent who understands that public works projects require strict compliance, coordination with agencies, and disciplined field controls.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all onsite construction activities in compliance with California Public Contract Code, Cal/OSHA, and contract requirements.
- Supervise subcontractors and field crews to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
- Develop and manage detailed look‑ahead schedules coordinating subcontractor sequencing, inspections, and material deliveries.
- Enforce a zero‑tolerance safety culture including daily toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Coordinate inspections with public agencies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Maintain accurate, audit‑ready field documentation including daily reports, RFIs, redlines, and progress photos.
- Identify constructability issues or schedule risks and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain site security, temporary facilities, and job site communication systems.
- 5+ years of Superintendent or field leadership experience on commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of government contract requirements.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors.
- Experience coordinating public agency inspections.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety Certification.
- Strong documentation and blueprint interpretation skills.
- Ability to work across multiple job site locations, including remote or mountainous terrain.
- Experience on California state, municipal, or special district projects.
- Familiarity with DSA, OSFM, or similar oversight agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
- Experience with SWPPP and environmental compliance.
