Position

Summary

The HVAC and Plumbing Installer Helper assists lead installers and technicians with HVAC and plumbing installations, replacements, maintenance tasks, jobsite preparation, material handling, cleanup, and basic field support. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is reliable, coachable, safety‑minded, and interested in building a long‑term career in the HVAC and plumbing trades. You’ll represent the company on jobsites with professionalism, teamwork, and a customer‑first attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist lead installers with residential and light commercial HVAC and plumbing installations
  • Help load, unload, carry, stage, and organize tools, equipment, parts, and materials
  • Prepare jobsites by protecting customer property, setting up work areas, and maintaining a clean workspace
  • Assist with setting equipment, running line sets, ductwork, condensate lines, vents, drains, water lines, and basic piping under supervision
  • Support basic demolition, removal, disposal, and cleanup of old equipment and materials
  • Follow directions from lead installers, supervisors, and project managers to complete work safely and efficiently
  • Maintain tools, company vehicles, equipment, inventory, and materials in a clean and organized condition
  • Follow company procedures, manufacturer instructions, applicable California codes, and all safety standards
  • Communicate respectfully with customers and team members while representing the company professionally
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of HVAC and plumbing experience required
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work well as part of a team in residential and light commercial jobsite environments
  • Basic ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and jobsite equipment safely
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred
  • Ability to use a mobile device for job communication, timekeeping, photos, and basic work documentation
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, construction, or installation experience
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, or technical training in HVAC, plumbing, or construction
  • Familiarity with HVAC equipment, ductwork, refrigerant line sets, water heaters, drains, vents, piping, or basic code requirements
  • OSHA 10, EPA Section 608, or other safety/trade certifications are a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, trenches, mechanical rooms, and outdoor conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs as needed with proper safety practices
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, carts, and jobsite equipment under direction
