Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Community Education Operations Manager, the Community Education Clerk provides general clerical assistance and logistical support to staff and administrators in support of Community Education operations, marketing, programming, and supply activities to ensure the delivery of efficient services and high quality programs.

Description
  • Performs general office duties such as, but not limited to, typing, sorting, filing, mail and package processing and delivery, maintaining files and records, updating, duplicating or preparing materials, proofreading documents, assist with coordinating and scheduling events, and processing various types of forms and reports so that the department functions in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Performs customer services support duties such as, but not limited to, answering telephones, disseminating information as needed or directed, providing directions, assistance or information to customers.
  • Assists with the preparation and maintenance of School District materials and equipment, including but not limited to providing logistical support as needed by programs, monitoring and/or organizing inventory, and ordering supplies to ensure the availability of work related items when needed.
  • Assists in the preparation of special projects or events such as, but not limited to, assisting with employee orientation and training, assisting with research work, or representing the Community Education Department, when needed, as various programs or events.
  • May provide clerical assistance as a back-up to other departmental staff.
  • Performs other duties of the same or similar nature as assigned.

  • General knowledge of modern office procedures and operation of general office equipment and familiarity with basic computer functions and applicable software applications.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers to aid in satisfying customer requirements.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent computer skills (i.e., MS Office Suite) and the ability to learn new computer program applications quickly.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Must have basic mathematical and general office skills, including the operation of office equipment.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years office work experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule, including days of the week and evenings and weekends.
  • Must be willing and able to legally drive a vehicle to deliver supplies and materials to Community Education program sites and community partner locations.
