- Support & Mentor Educators: Conduct classroom observations, deliver actionable feedback, and collaborate on teacher evaluations to maintain high-quality instruction.
- Architect the Master
Schedule:
Build and refine the daily master schedule and individual student schedules to maximize course offerings—including general education, CTE, AP/honors, and electives—while optimizing staff strengths. - Curriculum & Program Alignment: Assist in evaluating, revising, and maintaining curriculum standards, academic policies, and student handbooks in alignment with district goals.
- Foster Positive School Culture: Approach student discipline through a lens of personal accountability, growth, restorative practices, and active communication with families.
- Track Graduation & Student Records: Supervise student recordkeeping, credit tracking, and attendance systems to ensure every student meets graduation requirements and remains on track for college/career readiness.

Activities:
Oversee student registration, assist in supervising school events and co-curricular activities, and cultivate a safe, inclusive environment for all students. - Community & Agency
Collaboration:
Serve as a key liaison with local social service, welfare, and protection agencies to advocate for the holistic well-being of individual students.
- Keep the Campus Running Smoothly: Partner with and supervise building support staff—including office, nutrition, and custodial teams—to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming school facility.
- District & Community Engagement: Represent the high school at district, state, and regional meetings, maintaining transparent public relations with families, the Superintendent, and the School Board.
- Policy & Reporting: Prepare required operational reports for district departments, the Director of Educational Services, and the Minnesota Department of Education.
- Licensure: Current Minnesota K-12 or Secondary Principal License (Required).
- Teaching
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience (Required; high school experience preferred). - High School Expertise: Deep understanding of high school philosophy, graduation requirements, adolescent development, and post-secondary pathways.
- Leadership Toolkit: High-level organizational skills, master scheduling expertise, conflict resolution ability, and administrative problem-solving.
- Human-Centered Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of leading, delegating, and building trust among staff, students, and community partners.
- Preferred: Prior experience in a high school administrative role or dean of students capacity.
