Position Summary:The Wash Bay Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of LeFebvre & Sons’ fleet of semi-trucks and trailers. This position plays an important role in preserving the company’s image, supporting maintenance efforts, and ensuring equipment is road-ready. This is a hands‑on, physically active role that requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
Essential Duties:All duties to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular, prompt attendance and availability to work outside standard business hours as needed:
- Perform routine exterior washing of semi‑trucks and trailers using pressure washers, hoses, brushes, and appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Clean inside of trucks on an as needed basis.
- Polish trucks and trailers on an as needed basis.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the wash bay area, including cleaning equipment, drains, and surrounding work surfaces.
- Conduct pre‑wash inspections to identify damage or excessive grime and report findings to the Terminal Manager or Maintenance team.
- Refill and restock cleaning chemicals and supplies as needed; inform leadership when inventory is low.
- Follow proper procedures for safe chemical handling and equipment operation.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and waste disposal regulations (e.g., water runoff and cleaning agent use).
- Support general shop upkeep and may assist with minor facility cleaning duties as needed.
- Work efficiently and cooperatively with team members to meet daily wash goals.
- Communicate promptly about any equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or work hazards.
- Perform other duties within the location or other areas as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Report to work on time, ready to contribute, and consistently completes assigned tasks.
- Cooperate with colleagues to support daily operations and promote a positive work environment.
- Take responsibility for completing tasks accurately and thoroughly.
The tasks of this position generally require duties to be performed by:
- Work occurs in diverse environments: office, division truck, shop floor, and customer sites.
- Exposure to outdoor elements, dust, fumes, high noise levels, and extreme temperatures.
- Standard hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with extended hours required for meetings, travel, and project deadlines.
- Occasional travel to corporate or other terminal locations with overnight stays.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in wet, outdoor, or unheated environments.
- Work is primarily performed in a wash bay setting that may be hot, cold, wet, or humid depending on the season.
- Regular exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and moving vehicles or equipment.
- Position requires standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion for extended periods of time.
- Work schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on operational needs.
- Must practice safe work practices at all times and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Attend and participate in all required safety training(s).
- Ability to operate pressure washers and cleaning tools safely and effectively.

- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in vehicle washing, detailing, or maintenance support preferred.
- Effective communicator (verbal and written) with ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Basic mechanical understanding a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
