What You Will Do

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment, including but not limited to conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, bearings, packaging equipment and freezers. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and functioning safely and efficiently.

This position generally reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including conveyors, pumps, mixers, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, bearings, packaging equipment, freezers, compressors, and building equipment.
  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and advise the Maintenance Supervisor if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Manage multiple priorities and multitask effectively.
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Perform under limited supervision.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and facility needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Install, adjust, and repair packaging equipment to achieve optimal performance according to specifications.
  • Overhaul and maintain equipment during both production and non‑production periods.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze problems with machines and systems.
Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Follow GMPs when performing repairs and maintenance activities in production and storage areas, including the proper use of GMP apparel.
  • Follow guidelines when performing maintenance on food contact surfaces, including using food‑grade lubricants.
  • Tag equipment after performing maintenance to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience working with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic repairs on industrial food manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication is a plus.
  • Knowledge of single and three‑phase electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical control systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
  • Safely operate tools and equipment needed during repair and servicing of equipment.

Job Type: Full‑time

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
