AVR Inc, a McNamara Company, is seeking a skilled Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician to join our team in Elk River. The technicians perform a wide variety of repairs and maintenance to heavy trucks and heavy equipment. You will work with other service technicians to support efficient day-to-day operations. Your day-to-day work involves tasks to continuously improve production processes, equipment reliability, and tools performance.

This role is part of the Teamsters Union Local 120.

Position Description

This list of duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Diagnostic and repair of mechanical concerns including electrical, diesel engine, driveline, etc.
  • Following troubleshooting flow charts and wiring schematics.
  • Performing inspections and preventative maintenance at recommended intervals.
  • Common repairs include brakes, tires, pneumatic leaks, hydraulic leaks, lights, water leaks.
  • Document all parts, labor, and notes on digital work orders.
  • Some field service work required.
  • Promote and maintain a clean work environment.
  • DOT inspector, we will certify if not already.
  • Fosters compliance with all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures as well as with local, state and Federal regulatory agency requirements (OSHA, DOT, EFC and the like).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

  • Following troubleshooting flow charts and wiring schematics.
  • Performing inspections and preventative maintenance at recommended intervals.
  • Common repairs include brakes, tires, pneumatic leaks, hydraulic leaks, lights, and water leaks.
  • Repairs include light fabrication and welding.
  • Document all parts, labor, and notes on digital work orders.
  • Some field service work required.
  • Promote and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Fosters compliance with all safety rules, policies and procedures to company, local, state, federal and DOT regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position

Description:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work collectively as a team and independently.
  • Possess or willing to obtain DOT inspector certification.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Technical college or technical training is preferred.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Commercial driver’s license is preferred.

  • Ability to work in high-paced, dynamic surroundings and swift decision-making.
  • Ability to lift various dimensions and up to 75 lbs. frequently.
  • Frequent travel between job sites.

This position offers a pay range of $32.03 to $45.75 per hour depending on experience and tenure.
