Senior Accountant

Location: Elkhart, Indiana (Fully Onsite)

Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 annually (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Elkhart, Indiana. This is a fully onsite role requiring a self‑motivated professional with strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of hands‑on accounting experience and a deep understanding of full‑cycle accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable (Full‑Cycle)
    • Manage full‑scale AP and AR processes from start to finish
    • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments
    • Generate and distribute customer invoices
    • Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables
    • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Cash Management & General Ledger
    • Post and reconcile cash receipts and deposits
    • Maintain accurate general ledger entries
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of debits and credits
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
    • Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes
  • Fleet Maintenance & Insurance Administration
    • Track fleet maintenance schedules and related expenses
    • Coordinate vehicle insurance coverage, renewals, and claims
    • Maintain accurate records for fleet assets and associated costs
  • Reporting & Compliance
    • Prepare financial reports as requested by management
    • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
    • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, debits and credits
  • Proven experience managing full‑cycle AP/AR
  • Experience handling fleet maintenance tracking and insurance administration preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
