As an Accountant in the Finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, operational efficiency, and overall performance of the business. Serving as a trusted partner to finance and operational leaders, you will lead financial reporting, cost accounting, forecasting, and close activities while delivering actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance profitability, efficiency, and business results in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Yourmain responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close Management
- Lead plant-level financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including the general ledger.
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close activities.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results, variances, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare special financial analyses and reports for management as requested.
- Ensure consistency, transparency, and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing processes.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.
- Partner with operations leadership to drive productivity and profitability initiatives.
- Support capital expenditure planning and return-on-investment (ROI) analyses.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register and annual FA inventory
- Provide proactive financial guidance to support decision-making and improve plant performance.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, IFRS, and internal control requirements.
- Review and oversee employee expense and corporate credit card reporting.
- Support international accounts payable processing as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational and financial objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reporting efficiency, process optimization, and cost management.

A suitable background would be in accounting and manufacturing finance, with a strong foundation in financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis. Experience partnering with operations teams to drive profitability, process improvements, and informed decision-making in a manufacturing environment would be highly valued – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
