Crossing Safety Specialist

School Crossing Guard ensures that children and adults are able to cross the street safely on their way to and from school. This is a 5-hour per week position at $25.00 per hour.

• Ensures children and adults are able to cross the street safely on their way to and from school.
• Stops traffic at assigned school crossings.
• Ensures children and adults are crossing only during times that traffic is stopped.

High school education or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform job duties.

This position will be for a total of 5 hours per week, 1 hour per day, on school days.

• Incumbent works in all types of weather.
• Incumbent must hold a stop sign that weighs under 1.5 pounds while children are crossing.
• Incumbent wears supplied safety gear.

• Incumbent communicates effectively with staff, children, and the public in a courteous, tactful, respectful manner.
