After School Care Assistant

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned. CPR and First Aid certification and/or ability to be trained and certified. Attend required training sessions. Provide care/assistance to students. Tutors students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity. Assists teachers to maintain discipline in a positive manner. Keeps daily logs on students when requested. Attends assigned professional development and implements new practices successfully.

Well organized and takes initiative. Responsible, strong work ethic, flexible. Good communication skills. Maintains satisfactory attendance. Meets a minimum of "satisfactory" on all sections of the performance evaluation. Enjoys working with young children. Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook. Models Corporation Mission Statement and Values. Plans, prepares, and carries out activities for before school care program. Provide care/assistance to students outlined in their Individual Health Care Plan with the proper training.

Supervises students in various locations around the school. Maintain an open communication system with parents of students in before school program. Establish a structured program and routine to insure the safety of each student. Communicate and work effectively with the Corporation preschool teachers and staff.
