Waste Management, Inc., North America's leader in waste disposal and environmental services, is seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Engine Plant Technician to join our dedicated team. This position focuses on operating and maintaining the equipment used in renewable energy generation at our various facilities. As a key player in our commitment to sustainability, this role supports our mission to maximize resource value while minimizing environmental impact.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on various renewable energy systems, including but not limited to, biogas and solar installations.
  • Monitor and adjust operations of biofuel engine plants to ensure efficiency and compliance with all regulations and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues with renewable energy machinery and components, identifying and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain logs and records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and safety inspections.
  • Participate in the installation of new renewable energy systems and contribute to project planning and development phases.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and other specialists to enhance energy production and propose sustainable solutions.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving in a plant environment.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, particularly in biogas and thermal systems.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and data analysis for plant operations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
