• Ensuring equipment meets performance and quality goals.
• Creating and maintaining an evergreen site equipment maintenance and replacement plan.
• Working with Operations and Quality groups to develop facilities and equipment requirements and validation strategies.
• Generating process documentation including detailed work instructions and preventative maintenance plans.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements and cost reductions to achieve continuous improvement goals.
• Working with maintenance technicians, operations staff, and technical operations to act on opportunities related to manufacturing processes and equipment.

The job scope goes beyond the mechanical equipment focus to include the manufacturing process as well as process control methods.

While this is a 1st shift position, flexibility in work hours is required. This position may require off shift work hours based on business needs. Travel not to exceed 10% per year.

• BS/MS in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or other engineering degree with relevant work experience, and 10+ years experience in roles supporting manufacturing operations.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and participate in cross functional teams.
• Be familiar with mechanical design and the functioning of complex manufacturing equipment.
• Experience planning, writing and executing complex or multi-component equipment validations.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing and fixing mechanical and controls problems with automated production equipment.
• Ability to combine hands-on experience with engineering theory.
• Have demonstrated effective formal written and oral communication skills.

• Experience supporting biological/chemical manufacturing equipment including fermenters, bioreactors and temperature controlling apparatus
• Experience working in a medical diagnostic or similarly regulated industry
• Experience with Lean business systems and methodologies such as Structured Problems Solving, 5S, and Standard Work
• Experience with CAD software for machine design/maintenance.
• Experience with facilities and equipment integration planning and execution.
• Experience with training & mentoring engineering teams.
