Company Description
Duo Form Plastics, established in 1968, is a leader in the heavy gauge plastic thermoforming industry and is ISO 9001:2015 certified for quality. The company operates a 250,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility in Elkhart, IN, with more than 27 thermoforming machines and capabilities in vacuum forming, twin sheet forming, and pressure forming. Duo Form supports full-service product development through on-site design and engineering teams, an in-house tool shop, and extensive material and tooling options.
Its advanced print technology enables high-quality, full-color graphics on thermoformed parts in a wide range of sizes. The organization emphasizes continuous improvement, an employee-centric culture, and strong customer partnerships to deliver innovative, custom thermoformed solutions.
This is a full-time, on-site Engineer role based in Elkhart, IN. The Engineer will support the design, development, and optimization of thermoformed plastic products and processes from concept through production. Day‑to‑day tasks include collaborating with cross‑functional teams to refine product requirements, creating and updating 3D models and technical drawings, and working with tooling and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible, cost‑effective, and meet quality standards.
The role involves conducting engineering analyses, troubleshooting production issues, implementing process improvements, and supporting trials and validations on the manufacturing floor. The Engineer will also contribute to documentation, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and help maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, production, and customer‑facing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems, GD&T, and basic project management is preferred.
- Ability to work on‑site in a production environment, including supporting hands‑on testing, trials, and process validations.
