Chemical Process Engineer
Established, successful manufacturer is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to work on process and project engineering tasks in their manufacturing organization. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Overseeing manufacturing processes and making improvements
- Working on multiple capital projects on an ongoing basis, including timeline and budget management
- Troubleshooting equipment and processes, including mechanical problem solving
- Developing and improving line layouts and making line modifications
- Completing data analysis, including monitoring production metrics and KPIs
- Partnering with operations and maintenance to determine RCA and implement countermeasures
- Working closely with hourly and salary staff to achieve production and engineering goals
- Conducting project proposals and completing cost justifications
- Researching vendors and conceptualizing projects
- Supporting efforts to provide a safety-focused working culture, including supporting environmental and safety projects
- Other duties as directed by management
The company is seeking a candidate that is willing to spend up to 25% of their day on the manufacturing floor. Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment and have the ability to take ownership of projects. Individuals will be required to communicate at all levels of the plant and organization. Benefits are very competitive, including a bonus potential up to 10%.
REQUIREMENTS for the Chemical Process Engineer:
- A technical bachelor's degree is required; mechanical or chemical degrees are highly preferred
- Minimum of at least five years of similar engineering experience
- Experience working in process-oriented manufacturing environments (examples include chemical, coating, plastics, refinery, food, beverage, etc.)
- Experience completing CI functions, including scrap reductions, improving line efficiencies, etc.
- Experience overseeing capital equipment projects
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic project management, including overseeing project timelines
- Data analysis experience
- Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
- 2D and/or 3D modeling experience
- ERP experience
- PLCs, robotics and/or automation experience
- Lean certification
- MS Project
