Foreign Language Interpreter

The Chester County Intermediate Unit is searching for candidates fluent in Spanish for Foreign Language Interpreter positions within the Student Services Division. Qualifications include a high school diploma and fluency in Spanish. Experience with educational interpretation is strongly preferred. Required clearances include original criminal history clearance, child abuse clearance, FBI fingerprint clearance, clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA, and federal government clearance conducted by CCIU upon hire.

Duties and responsibilities include providing interpretation in educational settings such as IEP meetings, evaluations, in-home and classroom visits, disciplinary hearings, parent-teacher conferences, and open houses. The schedule is up to 260 days per year, 5 days per week, 3 hours per day, flexible based on candidate availability and on an on-call basis. The hourly rate is Support, Band 12: $26.55/hour - $33.19/hr, with compensation provided for travel to and from meeting locations.
