Position Summary
The Division Leader of Safety Culture is responsible for implementing safety strategies, behaviors, and initiatives at the division/region level to ensure a safe and reliable working environment for 100-400 teammates. This role serves as the frontline champion of safety culture, translating enterprise-wide programs into daily practices that reduce risk, promote psychological safety, and drive continuous improvement. The Leader works closely with division/region leadership, frontline teammates, and the Corporate Director of Safety Culture to ensure consistent execution and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement Division/Region-Level Safety Programs - Execute safety initiatives, training, and campaigns designed by the Director of Safety Culture, tailored to the local plant environment.
• Conduct Daily Safety Walks & Observations - Perform routine safety inspections, behavior observations, and engage with teammates to identify risks and reinforce safe practices.
• Lead Safety Meetings & Daily Huddles - Facilitate regular safety huddles, team briefings, and daily huddles to keep safety top-of-mind and encourage open dialogue.
• Promote Psychological Safety - Foster a culture where teammates feel safe to report hazards, speak up about concerns, and participate in safety improvements.
• Investigate Incidents & Near Misses - Lead root cause investigations for all incidents and near misses. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and shared with leadership.
• Coach Frontline Leaders - Train supervisors and team leads on safety leadership, hazard recognition, and how to model safe behaviors consistently.
• Monitor Safety Metrics - Track and report division/region-specific KPIs (e.g., TRIR, near-miss frequency, safety observations) to identify trends and guide improvements.
• Support Regulatory Compliance - Ensure division/region-level adherence to OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Maintain documentation and readiness for inspections.
• Drive Teammate Engagement in Safety - Encourage participation in safety committees, suggestion programs, and recognition initiatives that reinforce positive safety behaviors.
• Collaborate with Division/Region Leadership - Work closely with Plant Managers, People & Culture, and Operations to integrate safety into production planning, quality control, and workforce development.
• Oversee safety protocols for high-temperature operations within aluminum extrusions and help with environmental compliance relevant to extrusion operations.
• Maintain emergency action plans, evacuation procedures and severe weather protocols.
• Ensure compliance Federal, State, Local laws and regulations
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Management, Organizational Psychology, or related field (Associate's degree with experience may be considered).
• 5+ years of experience in safety or operations roles within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across levels.
• Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Ability to lead training sessions and coach frontline leaders.
• Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, ASP, CSP) preferred.
