Manufacturing Group lead I Manufacturing Group Lead I

Job Description

The Manufacturing Group Lead I is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within an assigned area, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met. This role acts as the first line of leadership on the shop floor, supporting operators, coordinating workflow, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a team of production operators to meet daily output goals
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to specifications and standards
  • Coordinate workflow, staffing, and job assignments to optimize efficiency
  • Troubleshoot production issues and elevate when necessary
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members on processes and best practices
  • Track and report production metrics (efficiency, scrap, downtime, etc.)
  • Maintain proper documentation, including production logs and quality records
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality, and other departments
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years manufacturing or production Experience
  • 1+ year of leadership or team lead experience
  • Strong understanding of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, SOPs and basic technical documents
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
Preferred
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools
  • Prior experience in a similar industry (e.g., coatings)
  • Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, etc.)
