Job Title:
Quality and Assurance Technician
Location:
Elkhart, IN
- Ensure products are made within product specifications by inspecting products.
- Conduct inspection checks on raw and finished products and document defects with accuracy and detail to ensure defects are not reproduced.
- Assist plant personnel when food safety and sanitation issues arise.
- Verify paperwork to adhere to food safety and quality regulations.
- Review the sanitation program as needed, including pre-operational sanitation.
- Conduct pre-operational tasks to be compliant with food safety and quality regulations.
- Properly use and care of analytical instruments and equipment, including daily calibration tests via documentation.
- Analyze product chemistry documents, specifically salts, moisture, fats, and proteins, look for trends and notify the supervisor of any findings.
- Maintain detail orientation to ensure all documentation and traceability are performed daily and stored in a manner that can be pulled easily for traceability tests.
- Perform swabs, validation tests, and back up for technicians when needed.
- Ensure all staff within the facility follow GMP requirements.
- Work regularly in temperatures near or below freezing in coolers and loading dock freezers.
- Work in damp or cold conditions (20-30 degrees) in fabrication areas.
- Lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs.
- Use sharp knives or cutting tools.
- Willing and capable of working overtime when necessary.
- Available to work day and night shifts.
- Willing and capable of working Saturdays.
- Subject to hot, cold, and wet environments.
- Must have ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Good attendance and safety records required.
- Standing:
Constant standing for 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week (loading docks 7 days as needed). - Reaching:
Reach for product on conveyor belt with hooks, reach for boxes or bags. - Neutral wrist:
Repetitive hand motions and grasping. - Additional note:
The schedule for this position is typically Monday to Friday with weekend work required as scheduled; during fall season, Saturdays are typically scheduled.
