Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: High Pressure Jetters in Indiana

Now Hiring — High-Pressure Water Jetting Technicians

A scheduled plant turnaround in Indiana requires experienced, safety-focused high-pressure water jetting technicians. This starts as turnaround work, but there is strong potential for long-term, ongoing employment for the right people who perform well and work safely. Local applicants are strongly preferred to minimize travel and lodging needs.

Pay:
Depending on experience (DOE). More experienced, fully-credentialed operators will be compensated accordingly. Strong performers will be considered for long-term positions beyond the turnaround.

What You'll Do

  • Manual and automated high-pressure cleaning: shotgun, flex lancing, rigid lancing, and tube/line moleing on exchangers, piping, and process equipment
  • Pre-job equipment inspection, system setup, and teardown
  • Work within barricaded zones following the site's permit and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) process

Required Safety Certifications

Candidates must hold current, verifiable credentials in all of the following before mobilizing:

  • Safety Essentials (e.g., BASIC Plus / Safety Council orientation)
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide awareness/clearance)
  • Confined Space Entry

Operator Certification & Qualification

The recognized North American standard for this work comes from the Water Jet Technology Association (WJTA), whose Industry Best Practices for the Use of High Pressure Water jetting Equipment (the "Orange Book") has been the primary safety reference since the mid-1980s. Preferred candidates will hold:

  • WJTA Foundational Training (FT) — a three-hour eLearning module covering recommended safety practices in high-pressure industrial cleaning
  • WJTA Field Verification (FV) — hands-on instruction and skills verification covering system setup, pre-job inspection, and manual/automated cleaning operations, led by a WJTA-approved Verified Trainer (FV requires a valid FT credential first)
  • These credentials are transferable between employers, so bring your records — we can verify them
  • Prior turnaround/plant experience in petrochemical, refining, or similar industrial settings
  • Ability to pass site-required safety orientation, drug screen, and a medical fitness check (this work is physically demanding)

Required PPE / Safety Standards

Standard industrial PPE is not sufficient for this work. High-pressure water can cut through boots, gloves, and protective clothing in a fraction of a second, so jet-rated equipment is mandatory:

  • Jet-resistant blast suit (meta-aramid or equivalent ballistic-rated material)
  • Full-face shield — pressure above 2,000 PSI requires a full face shield
  • Metatarsal foot guards (standard steel-toe boots can be penetrated by a high-pressure jet)
  • Heavy-duty waterproof gloves, hearing protection, and respiratory protection where airborne debris or coatings are present
  • Operators must follow safe-system rules at all times: never operate above the pressure rating of the lowest-rated component, never work on a pressurized system, and ensure whip checks are installed on all pressure connections.
