Job Title

Position Summary:

Responsible for spraying prepared surfaces following SOPs with specified amounts of primers and decorative or finish coatings.

• Paint whole trucks according to order forms and schedule.
• Mix paints to match color specifications or original colors, stirring or thinning paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment.
• Select paint according to company requirements and match paint colors, following specified color charts.
• Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
• Paint application system — Paint booths and spray guns.
• Assist in repair and refinish painted bumpers.
• Assist in repair and refinish painted mirrors, door handles, fender flares, side moldings and spoilers.
• Assist in buff and touch up minor chips and scratches.
• Prep vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Participates in daily shop organization and clean-up.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, as well as the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, complex operating and work instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Education:

HS diploma or equivalent required

• 4+ years of automotive painting experience required
• Some fiberglass finishing experience required

• Manufacturing Environment
• Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time
• Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
