Position

Production Material Handler

$18/hr (Starting Wage)

8 AM - 4:30 PM (Straight-8 schedule with two paid 10 minute breaks and a paid 20 minute lunch)

Elkhart

Safety-Toe Shoes;
Jeans/Uniform Pants or similar (no sweats or synthetics);
Shirt with short or long sleeves (no sleeveless shirts);
We will provide all other required PPE.

Load raw-materials, work-in-process, pallets and unload finished product from all production equipment (3 work-centers). Maintain organized skid/lumber storage in outdoor asphalt lot.

• Extensive fork‑truck experience (including loads up to 12,000# - metal or similar coil/sheet handling preferred but not required)
• Ability to multitask and monitor several pieces of equipment for material‑handling needs
• Flexibility in daily routine at work
• Ability and willingness to work overtime (sometimes on Saturday)

• Monitor all work‑center schedules for inbound and outbound materials.
• Ensure that all raw materials, WIP, packaging supplies (pallets), etc. are on‑hand at work centers before production needs them.
• Obtain all work order information from the ERP system, locate, obtain, and set up as required.
• Transport finished production goods from work centers to the shipping department and stack or rack as required.
• Utilize scanning equipment to maintain material locations.
• Ensure maximum safety, quality and productivity of production material handling activities.
• Responsible for housekeeping of the skid yard, all operating and surrounding areas.
• Multitask and oversee all production material handling activities.
• Participate in training / cross‑training of additional material handlers, when required.
• Assist as general labor during periods of downtime.

• Forklift experience
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work in a standing/walking position for over eight hours per day
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrate good hand/eye coordination
• Perform repetitive motions for more than eight hours per day
• Good written and verbal communication
• Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the facility
